Britisk organisasjon søker partner til opplæringskurs om korte volontøropphold for utsatt ungdom, Storbritannia, mai 2007

We are planning to arrange a training seminar in the UK in May around using short-term EVS as a pathway for young people with less opportunities and their re-integration back into their home community on completion of their voluntary service. The training will consider issues experienced by young people prior, during and post EVS, problems will include the legal problems, such as young people in state funded accommodation or receiving state benefits, practical barriers such as young offenders who have a mobility restriction and young people who have difficultly getting legal papers to travel, and social issues, such as their re-integration back into society.

Date: May 2007 one week

We are planning to host a training seminar looking at the experience of young people who have participated in short-term EVS have when re-integrating into their home community after their experience. The seminar will look at practical issues, such as government legislation in different countries affecting their legal status, in relation to unemployment or social housing for example. It will also consider social integration, what support can be offered to young people post EVS and how the experience of a three to six week project can make a contribution to their personal development pathway.

Venue: Peak District, UK

Group: 12 – 15 participants (there will for some of the sessions also be some young people who have been through EVS and experienced some of these problems. – These young people will be resource people for our training seminar).

Costs: There are no costs for participation, however participants will need to pay 30% of travel costs.

Programme
The intention of this training seminar will bring together organisations who already work with or are beginning to work within the programme of short-term EVS. It will target new organisations as well as those who have more experience. Ideally partners who both send and host short-term EVS volunteers will gain the most from this training seminar but we are also happy to invite partners who only work in either sending or hosting.

We have space for an addittional partner to join us but we need your expressions of interest very soon as we will apply for the project 1st November deadline and we need original signature pages.
