From comedy to drama, award nominated actor Cree Cicchino has emerged in the entertainment industry as one of the most in-demand, Latina actresses in Young Hollywood today. She has quickly become known for her comedic timing, tenacious work ethic, and dynamic characters brought to life on screen. This year, Cicchino can be seen starring in two of Netflix’s most anticipated projects.
On the film front Cicchino will star as Mim in Netflix’s upcoming action-packed, feature film The Sleepover opposite Joe Manganiello, Ken Marino, and Malin Åkerman. Directed by Trish Sie (Pitch Perfect 3) the film follows two siblings who discover their seemingly normal mom is a former thief in witness protection. When their mother is forced to pull one last job, the kids and their best friends team up to rescue her over the course of an adventurous night. The Sleepover will debut on Netflix this summer.
Next, Cicchino will return to Netflix’s hit comedy series Mr. Iglesias starring opposite Gabriel ‘Fluffy’ Iglesias. The show debuted in summer 2019 and follows a good natured teacher (Iglesias) at Wilson High School who tries to help misfit yet gifted kids. Cicchino shines as Marisol Fuentes, a smart and determined student who grew up as the working daughter of a single mom. As she competes for a slot at a prestigious college throughout season one, Marisol realizes she’s going up against kids who do not have to work three jobs to help their families pay their bills. New episodes of Mr. Iglesias debuted on June 17, 2020.
Born in New York and raised in Queens, Cicchino got her start in the entertainment industry at a young age, landing a starring role in Nickelodeon’s hit, live-action gaming sitcom Game Shakers at just thirteen years old. The series was an instant hit for Nickelodeon, and ran for three seasons. Cicchino garnered nominations for Best Young Actor – Television at the 2017 and 2018 Imagen Awards for her work on the show.
When she isn't on set, you can find Cicchino in the dance studio taking all kinds of classes and keeping her skills sharp. She loves street styles, especially Jazz Funk. On the charity front, Cicchino is an advocate for social justice. She is passionate about shedding a light on social injustices around the globe, and uses her social media presence to raise awareness and spread information on how others can advocate as well. She also has a heart for rescue animals, and has actively supported various non-profits around the Los Angeles area for the last five years.
