Eloise Mumford plays the female lead Trudy Cooper, Mercury 7 astronaut Gordon Cooper’s wife and an accomplished pilot herself, on Nat Geo Channel’s new series The Right Stuff adapted from Tom Wolfe’s bestselling nonfiction account of the early days of the U.S. space program. The series is being produced by Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian Way and is airing new episodes each Friday on Disney Plus currently.
Eloise is perhaps best known as Kate Kavanagh in the Universal Pictures Feature Trilogy 50 Shades of Grey as Anastasia (Dakota Johnson)’s best friend / roommate who begins a relationship with Christian Grey’s older brother. Recently, she starred in the film Standing Up, Falling Down with Billy Crystal and Ben Schwartz. The comedy premiered at the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival and was released on February 21st this year in theaters and on demand.
A Washington state native and a 2009 Tisch/NYU graduate, Eloise understudied Elizabeth Moss in Speed the Plow on Broadway while still in school, ultimately going on opposite William H. Macy and Raul Esparza. On the television side, Eloise has recurred on NBC’s Chicago Fire as well as starring on the short lived FOX series Lone Star, and ABC’s The River.
